On October 25 and 26, 2022, Baukunst gathered at Warehouse XI, just outside of Boston in Somerville, MA, to share projects, processes and new areas of inquiry.

At Baukunst, we believe the true art of building lies in setting the right culture and scene for the new to emerge, grow, scale and endure.

Over the two days in Boston, we invited creative technologists to share what they’ve been working on, the insights they are gleaning inside of that work, and the transformations they see on the horizon. Talks and panels included:

  • Bridging the Gap Between Industrial Manufacturing and the Regenerative Future — Lauryn Menard + Baillie Mischler, PROWL
  • How Engineers Will Collaborate in 2035 — William Burke, Five Flute + John McEleney, PTC / Onshape
  • Building Exceptional Teams — Giorgos Zacharia, Kayak + Paul English, Boston Venture Studio
  • Poetic Computation — Zach Lieberman, MIT Media Lab
  • The Future of Grocery — Julia Megson, ReScale Supply + Matthew Baer, Takeoff Technologies
  • The Vention Story — Etienne Lacroix, Vention
  • The Future of the Helium Network — Mark Philips, Nova Labs + Tyler Mincey, Baukunst
  • Ancestry and La Lucha Libre + AI: A Series of Digressions on Intentional Image-Making — Raul Guttierez, Tinybop
  • Designing for Capital Efficiency — Mike Salguero, ButcherBox + Ismail Salhi, Wildgrain
  • Hyperdevices: Principles for an Ecosystem of Crypto-native Connected Devices, Tyler Mincey
  • Crossing the Chasm from Hard Science to Consumer — Madhavi Gavini, Droplette + Charvi Shetty, Aluna

An idea, no matter how brilliant, is only as strong as the collective behind it. To accomplish our most ambitious aims, we need others. At Baukunst, we build companies. And also, we build the communities, experiences, products, and stories that shape how companies are built. We specialize in doing new things well and that requires collaboration.

It was fascinating and inspiring to gather in Boston. Following the conference, we crystallized key ideas and discussion points from our time together in a zine, which was shared with each member of our collective.

The Baukunst Creative Technologist Conference is an intimate gathering, by invitation only. If you're interested in joining us at a future event, send us a note and say hello. hello@baukunst.co
